Arnold AFB is located about an hour south of Nashville on I-24. The base is small but does have a commissary. The famcamp is located off of the main base and had good roads going to it. The campground itself is a bit tight for large rigs, so if you have a big rig or are not comfortable maneuvering it in tight spaces ... this may not be the place for you. But if you are OK with that, it is a beautiful quite location to relax. There is propane available at Tractor Supply in Winchester, Manchester and Tullahoma and also available at Poultry Electric and Pro Hardware in Winchester.

Maxwell AFB is located in Montgomery AL. The base is nice size with the usual amenities. The commissary and BX were not extremely large, but had everything we needed. The gas station was conveniently located and had easy entrance and exit. The campground is located through the base past the golf course and training areas. The campground is pretty large, has a nice lake for fishing and a playground. The sites are full hookup, with cement level sites. The bathrooms and laundry are just ok. Not bad but not as nice as other military campgrounds. It was more like a state park facility.
Camp Shelby is located near Hattiesburg, MS. This is a large base in square miles, but there are not a lot of large base amenities. There is a small PX which is more of a glorified shoppette. There is no commissary on the base, so make sure you purchase all your groceries before you arrive. The base is easily accessible from major highways, however when we left the base we went out the back gate. This was open even on a Saturday, but there is a train trellis that only allows for 13'6" clearance, so BEWARE! The main (older) campground area has a lot of trees, a bit hilly and the sites are not all level. All campsites are full hook-up. There is a new section however on the opposite side of the lake that are paved and very level ... but no trees. The showers and bathrooms are only available on the older side. There are laundry facilities available that are FREE. Our favorite part of this base was the All Hands Club which was a short walk from the campground. The food and drinks were great, and the walk around the lake to get there was beautiful.

Little Rock AFB is located in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The base is easy to get to using major highways. The entrance to the base does include some barriers to alternate around, but if you take your time even big rigs like our 41" 5th wheel with a less experience driver (me) can do it without any issues. The campground is located near all the base amenities you will want to utilize, such as the Commissary, BX, Shopette, Class IV, Gas Station and more. Located just about 2 hours west of Memphis and 5 hours from Dallas it is a great stopping point if traveling east or west on I-30 or I-40. We enjoyed our stay here very much, and will stay again as we travel in this area.
